Assignment: Before Week 1

Before beginning on the activities presented in Week 1, Blogs & RSS, please take some time to do the following:

• Read "What is Web 2.0" by Richard McManus on ZDNet.

• Read "20 Reasons Why Learning Emerging Technologies is Part of Every Librarian's Job" by Kathryn Greenhill of Librarians Matter.

• Watch Introduction Video for the Web 2.0 Challenge course site.
  

• Watch the instructions for How to Post to Your Student Blog. Do a test post in your blog.

• Review the syllabus for this course.

• Add detail to your profile - To access your profile, click on "My Profile" in the sidebar menu on the left side of the page. Add in some information about yourself and upload a photo.

• Make contact with the other members of your small group. Discuss availability for weekly chat sessions. If your small group facilitator hasn't contacted you by Tuesday, July 21st, please contact Meg Kribble.

• Review the final project assignment for this course. As you work through the course, think about which technologies you might wish to propose for you library. Coming Soon!
