Role of Facilitator

Each facilitator will each be assigned a small group of approximately seven participants whom he/she will guide through the course. Facilitators will participate in the activities along with their small group and schedule a weekly chat session (or teleconference if you prefer) to encourage discussion, answer questions and provide encouragement.

In mid-July, you will receive your small group number along with a roster of the participants in your group. Before the course begins, it is your responsibility to contact the participants to welcome them to the course and schedule a time for weekly small group discussions. We’ve tried to match your general availability to those of the students in your group.

Facilitators will also monitor the involvement of each participant in the group through the weekly chats, by reading participant blogs, and reviewing the final proposals. You’re responsible for “grading” these activities – see Grades for details.
